Prayer for the BOYW Programs 2008 :

1. Boys Brigade/Girls Brigade Consultation

Date: 28 - 29 June 2008
Venue: SU Campsite, Tapah

- Pray for good response from BB/GB to come for the consultation
- pray for focused and clear discussion on issues that will be
- discussed
- Pray for good weather
- Pray for good fellowship and bonding among all participating
- Journey mercy for all traveling to the camp site

2. Youth Counselors Retreat 2008

Date: 8 - 10 August 2008
Venue: Chefoo Center, Cameron Highlands

Pray for:
- Good response from counselors
- Wisdom and strength from the Lord for those organizing the
retreat
- Dr Herbert Tan - speaker for sessions
- Hearts to be encouraged and challenged to persevere in the
youth ministry
- Good time of fellowship and bonding with one another
- Journey mercy for all traveling to Chefoo
- Good weather

3. Youth Mission Trip

Date: 25 Nov - 2 Dec 2008
Place : Long Lamai, Sarawak

Pray for:
- The right people to respond for this mission trip
- Youths who will hear God's calling to serve Him in mission work
- Youths with a heart to reach out to the Penan people
- Youths who are ready to be used by God to serve Him in this
area
- Strong support from local churches to send out youths for
mission
- Youths who are ready for an adventure with God

4. Youth Leadership Development Program

Date: 9 - 14 December 2008
Venue: SU Campsite, Tapah

Pray:
- That God will prepare the hearts of all who are coming, both
participants and helpers
- For all speakers to seek God on sharing his lessons to the
participants
- Protection for all preparing and planning to go for the camp
- Good weather for all activities
- Safe environment for all
- Journey mercy to the camp site

5. College Camp

Date: 13 – 18 December 2008

Pray for:
- A suitable venue for the camp
- Plenary speaker and session speakers
- Planning committee to be able to finalize on focus for the camp
- The right helpers and facilitators


Prayer for the Youth Ministry in TRAC Churches

Christ Methodist Church, Ampang

- For the Holy Spirit’s guidance as they face and deal with the material trappings and temptations in the world.
- A commitment and perseverance to read the bible daily, and spend quiet time with God.
- Identify and use their talents (in music, art, writing, leadership and organizational skills, etc) for the Lord.
- To have the courage and commitment to serve in Sunday School worship when scheduled.
- For the elected leaders of the youth.
- They may learn and grow as they lead.
- They may be good leaders, be examples for others.
- Able to balance study, youth leadership responsibilities and leisure.
- For all youths and counselors, that we may have the zeal for the Lord. A desire to seek the Lord’s face, to know Him, love and worship Him.

WMC, Alor Setar

- Wisdom as we choose our President and our new committee in May.
- Personal growth and spiritual maturity of our youth and a deeper love for the Word of God.
- Greater enthusiasm in wanting to reach out to their non-Christian friends.
- MYF Retreat on 2nd - 4th June in Safira Resort, Butterworth. Speaker: Dr. Samuel Ong
- Greater commitment for those who are not regular in our weekly meetings.

WMC, Seremban

-Spiritual maturity - know our Father deeper and have a closer walk with Him so that our youth would know God's will for them and that He is always there for them.

-Peer pressure - that our youth would be able to resist temptations from the world through their peers. Common temptations among our youth are smoking, getting a boyfriend/girlfriend, drinking, and even drugs.

-Bond with each other - pray that God would strengthen the bond with one another so that they could encourage each other in their walk especially when they leave town to further their studies.

-God's wisdom and strength to study - 6 youths are having their SPM this year. Pray for God's wisdom, strength and guidance as they study. Pray also for good time management so that they are able to manage their time with God, social activities and studies.

-Leaders - pray that God will raise leaders among the youth. Pray also that God will bless them with confidence to lead as many youth do not have confidence in themselves.

-Decision making - pray for God's direction as our youth makes academic decision which is in line with their ambition.

-Full time youth worker - pray that God will bless our church and youth with a full time youth counselor.

TMC, Petaling Jaya

- Pray that they love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and that they love others as themselves – Mat.22:37-39
- Pray for their desire to know God and hungry for His word – Mat.5:6
- Pray for their obedience to follow all of God’s teaching and commands – Jn.14:23
- For them to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus, truly know Him and have a real relationship with Him – 2Pet.3:18
- For God to cultivate in them the ability to show true humility toward all – Titus3:2-
- God to help these youths develop servant’s heart, that they may serve wholeheartedly – Eph.6:7
- For them to be pure, free of idolatry, occult, sexual immorality – Ps.51:10
- For them to be faithful, to fight the good fight of faith, taking hold of the eternal life to which they are called. – Prov.3;3; 1Tim.6:12
- God to bring in people with heart to mentor them and connect with them
- God to provide a male Boys’ Brigade Captain for the Boys’ Brigade Ministry.
- God to bring in more Youth workers to help in the Youth Ministry. God to stir the hearts of parents to help.
- For the 1st Petaling Jaya Boys’ Brigade Company ministry to be effective in La Salle and Bukit Bintang School and for the 1st Petaling Jaya Girls’ Brigade Company to be effective in the Methodist Primary School. Pray that the girls and boys will come to salvation through the ministries.
- For the Word of God to be boldly taught in the Youth ministry.
- For parents to release their children into full time ministry.
- For God’s direction in the Youth development.
- For parents to live godly lives and be a positive influence in front
of their children and transfer values that they will need to build a
godly life.
- For children to be obedient, for parents to teach their children obedience so that they may transfer their obedience from their parents to God when they grow up.

WMC, Kuantan

- The youths will continue to be grounded in God’s word. They would develop the discipline of prayer and time in reading the bible.
- The newly form MYF committee to learn their roles in leadership and would develop humility, teachable heart, responsibility and commitment in serving.
- The counselors who have been walking alongside with the youths will continue to find strength and joy in mentoring them.
- Both the MYF committee and counselors will continue to work as a team in unity and harmony.

WMC, Ipoh

-Short of youth leaders, MYF counselors and BB officers. Pray that the leaders are more sufficient to run programs without too dependent on me.

-Many who are serving in youth work are hands full with other ministries and personal commitments. Unable to spend much time with youths

-Youths are facing many challenges. Attending church service/youth activity each week is becoming one of the many classes/events attended by them. No priority to God as tuitions, swimming class, piano etc are taxing on them.

-Some parents do not realize the importance of investing in their children's spiritual growth by supporting/encouraging their children to attend youth programs
-Pray that I (Edwin – Youth Worker) will be able to sustain the various responsibilities/ministries in church and pray for God's Hand upon me

WMC, Subang

-Pray for Wisdom & guidance for preparations towards organizing Youth Alpha (planning currently in early stages)

Trinity MC, Sg Buloh

-Pray for the resources used as it is not easily available
-Pray for the counselors and members to move in the Lord
-Pray for those who wants to join the meeting on Saturday but unable to join
-Pray for the youth to grow spiritually, closer in bonding with one another and grow in numbers

WMC, Kampar

-MYF is not functioning at the moment as the fewmembers have left Kampar for further studies. We aretrying to encourage some Sunday School children whoare in Form 1 and above, to join

-MYF but they are notso keen. Do pray that with the encouragement from theSunday School teachers, they will come and join us.

-We are now embarking on this Campus Ministry toreach out to KTAR and UTAR students. Do pray that weare able to bring these students to join the MYF.

-Pray for the MYF Counselors as well. Pray thatour zeal and passion to reach out to youths will notdiminish. Both of us, myself (Mrs Susan Chan) and brother Marn Foo have been in this ministry for more than a decade and at times, we really feel 'burnt out'.

WMC, KL

-Pray that our youths develop a sense of belonging to the church as the church renews its calls to the youths to be a part of the community of faith and not forsake this call in their pursuit of career and educational qualificationsOur church is embarking on a project to build a new addition to the existing church buildings thus increasing our physical resources and capacities for teaching, outreach and growth by 2010. Pray with us that our youths will adapt to the transition and draw synergies from the new opportunities arising and take the lead from the Holy Spirit in making the change a transforming event that will bring us closer to Christ-likeness

Life MC, Puchong

-Please pray for God's vision to be shown on our youth, His plans for each of them, and God's continued guidance and blessings in their life, blessed their relationship with their parents.

WMC, Kuala Lipis

-Pray for our youths to be True disciples of Christ. We hope to see more commitment and vibrancy in their spiritual lives.

-Pray for more youths to join our MYF.

WMC, Klang

-God will raise up Godly leaders who are matured and committed

-The youth group members will be united and truly care for each other

-God will create opportunities for the youth group to reach out to other non-Christian’s youth in

-Klang. Pray that the burden will be placed on the hearts of the members

-God will call the members to volunteer in the area of worship ministry
